What is STEM education?
Nowadays the integration of subjects is an educational trend that many schools would like to adopt, but What is it? and What can we do to make it work in our schools?
According to Live Science, Elaine J. Holm in her 2014 article "What is STEM education" states that STEM is an idea where students applied and build their knowledge upon four main disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - where they mix all the four subjects by intertwined them.
As teachers we can tell how our students engage when we mix some topics and have them building their own knowledge. If we can mix those four basic disciplines, students could be motivated and committed with themselves to succeed.
I just wanted to introduce this new trend, now it is your turn to investigate and to implement it in your own teaching world.
